Riverside Community Nursery School

Riverside Nursery offers places for 3-5 year olds and is situated in Riverside Primary School. We are an early years unit and work closely with the Foundation Stage children which enables the older children to become good role-models for the younger children and allows different learning opportunities for all abilities. The Early Years Unit includes 3 classrooms and a nursery which includes 2 smaller rooms, a creative area and an excellent outside facility.

Pirates

To link with our topic this term of "Fairy tales" we have changed our role play into a pirate ship. The children have loved dressing up as pirates and playing in the ship.

We have heard lots of pirate sayings, for example: "Walk the plank" "Ahoy matey" "Aarrgh" "Aye Aye Captain" "X marks the spot".
